"My favourite part of the process is dyeing the yarn. In many ways the actual weaving of an item is very structured – there’s a lot of math and it’s all about getting the numbers correct. So this handsome dude is an Angora goat.

I get lots of lovely questions from people and quite often I am asked what mohair is, as I use it in my wool and mohair throw-blankets. 

Mohair is the luxury yarn that is made from the beautiful curly locks Look how well I did matching the colour of the mohair to the Toetoe? 

When you are hand-dying it's always a bit hit and miss and you never really know how it's going to come out of the dye pot, so I'm absolutely delighted when I get it right!

NZ na It was great to have had an assistant in the studio this weekend! This is Stirling - my smart, big-hearted and hilariously funny nephew. 

Although his legs weren't long enough to reach the pedals, we worked in tandem on the loom making a throw-blank This month Slow Woven Textile Studio is being featured over on @iheartfelt
